New G21 3 Series Touring. Sadly doesn’t look like it’s coming to the U.S., but hot damn.

That is a nice color and we never get the wagons.

Looks like MB is the last vestige of the non faux-butch (no unpainted plastic cladding etc ) German wagon for the USDM.

What?

BMW - wagons gone
Audi - faux butch
Buick - faux butch Opel
MB - normal and sport
oops forgot VW, still has a non-faux butch I think

I think the Volvo wins on style.

The hell is a faux butch? My brain hasn’t fully awakened yet lol

Me too! I love the Sport package/M340i version.

Not German, but Volvo still has the V60 and V90 regular wagons (Non-cross country) but those are special order only. I am thankful for that because that means a used one will be available someday sometime in t he future
Also, for extra $1000 you can make the Allroad non-faux butch to match the rest of the body on certain colors

Nah.

Body cladding.

Ja.

Ah. Thanks for clearing it up, I didn't even know what that was at all
![]() 06/12/2019 at 11:31 |

Yeah, cladding and maybe even a mild lift, I put it in my original post :)

I think I’ve seen maybe one each of the normal Volvos, maybe as rare as my non-sport E wagon. I bet depreciation will be even stronger, too.
Allroad makes it faux butch even without cladding IMO, I think it sits a little higher, but at least doesn’t have pretend-tough trim.

That is nearly perfect.
Wish the front bumper, lights and grill were slightly less sucky.

Outback-ified

Volvo V60 and V90 are both available without the Cross Country nonsense.

The Volvo is beautiful, clean design.
I don’t know why their is so much love for the G20. It’s not attractive. And I’m not crazy for the G21 aside from the fact that it’s a wagon.

E30 > E46 > E90 > E36 > G20 > F30

Not German and quite rare (special order only at least for V90 right?) but yes.
![]() 06/12/2019 at 14:09 |

Not German, but close enough. V60's aren’t special order as far as I know.

Is Korean close enough for Japanese? Maybe French close enough for Italian? :)
I think I see even less current style non-XC wagons as I see late model E wagons, so maybe the market speaks.

That’s beautiful

Isn’t there a Ferrari and a Jag?
![]() 06/12/2019 at 22:00 |

I see the Ferrari as a shooting brake. Jag, still offered? I guess so, easy to forget. I think I’ve seen one.

I got through most of David Tracy’s article on it yesterday wondering what he was going on about. It looked pretty meh.
Then I got to the end and saw the lone picture with that color and realized why: the gray on all the other photos completely kills the surfacing. Takes a sharp looking car and makes it rather dull.
And I actually like some cars in gray—i t can be a good look—b ut not this one. This one needs a good metallic color to properly show it off.
